  
Herbal teas are technically called tisanes not teas, as they are not made from the tea plant Camellia sinensis. Still, in accordance with typical modern use, we use tea and tisane somewhat interchangeably with our herbals. Tea Forte's herbals are made from all natural rough cut flowers and herbs, including many (such as Chamomile, Hibiscus and Ginger) that have been used for taste and health for centuries. Rooibos (as found in our African Solstice) is a South African plant that is often referred to as Red Tea, though it is also a caffeine-free tisane. Leaves from Rooibos, or Aspalathus Linearis, are oxidized much like tea. The high antioxidant levels in Rooibos approach those of tea, and Rooibos tisanes are rapidly gaining popularity in Europe and North America.
